CCH/Bensalem Joins Joy of Sox Drive for Homeless
CCH | Bensalem – June 1, 2012
By Noel C. Stranen, MSW, Compassionate Care Hospice Social Worker
We are working with The Joy of Sox, an organization that was established to provide socks to the homeless. We have all donated clothes and even shoes to the homeless but very few of us have given socks. What do the homeless ask for the most when seeking donation—SOCKS!!!
For the month of June, we will be doing a drive to collect socks to donate. There are roughly 10,000 homeless in the Philly, Trenton, Camden, Wilmington area. Let’s say that they could use a new pair of socks once a month. That is 120,000 socks in any given year.
Andrea Cwiek and I have set-up boxes in the Bensalem office where you can bring in (or mail in) new socks to donate. All different types of socks are welcomed. Please consider being generous. Feel free to extend the invitation to friends, families or groups that you are involved with.Andrea and I appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing the drive being a great success!!
Bring in, or mail, your donations to: The Joy of Sox Drive, Compassionate Care Hospice, 3331 Street R, Suite 410, Bensalem, PA 19020.
