Most hospice patients are cared for in their home. Our admissions nurse will visit the patient and family in the comfort
of their home to explain the hospice program and initiate services. A
nurse case manager will then arrange to visit the patient one to three
times a week as medically needed. A nurse is on call 24 hours a day, 7
days a week.
Home health aides are available for assistance
with bathing, dressing, preparing meals, etc. Appropriate medical
equipment such as oxygen, bed, commode, and/or wheelchair will be
ordered and set up in the home. Hospice medications will be ordered
and delivered directly to the home.
The social worker and pastor are
also available to assist with financial concerns, identifying
additional resources for care, and end of life issues.
Compassionate
Care Hospice also has a staff of trained volunteers to assist the
family with companionship, errands, and care giving relief.
